Bartolomé de las Casas Condemns Spanish Treatment of Indigenous Peoples

It’s easy for us to condemn Spanish colonialists for the treatment of the Indians they encountered in the so-called New World. From our perspective it’s a given. But even contemporaries took issue with Spanish exploitative practices. Here’s a Spanish clergyman, Bartolomé de las Casas, writing during the time of Spanish colonialism.
